A Week in Review is a series where I summarize all the latest updates of farm and fixer upper life in one spot. Last week was all about sharing the love, working hard, giving grace, and welcoming new farm babies.

Adding Spring Vibes
I added a lot of spring vibes to the farmhouse last weekend. To be honest, it isn’t easy to decorate a home that is also under construction. Since we aren’t in the season of going all out with decorating I decided to fill our house with plants. Not only are plants good for the air and soul, but they instantly make a space feel more homey; even among all the saw dust, chop saws, paint cans, ect.
I did a simple refresh of our living room mantel by layering some windows and frames and adding plant cuttings to bud vases. Taking cuttings from plants is great because the only thing better than plants are free ones. I also hung this vintage bird print that reminds of spring.
Decor Steals for the Win
Do you know about Decor Steals? They are an online shop that shares home decor at affordable prices. What I love most is that most pieces are vintage inspired, like the mug rack I have on our kitchen or this globe on our mantel. I was surprised today when I opened an email from Decor Steals to see our mantel. It totally made my day! If you are looking for a vintage looking globe be sure to check out @decorsteals. Don’t wait, the steals never last long!

Share the Love
We did another round of Share the Love last week!
I am always so excited to team up with an amazing group of ladies to share the love on Instagram! The best part is EVERYONE CAN PLAY ALONG! Basically you have the opportunity to be shared on 11 amazing accounts. I have received soo much positive feedback from people who have played along which is why we continue to do these when we can. People find new inspiration, gain a ton of exposure (despite the algorithm), and gain new followers. It’s pretty amazing to watch our decor community grow and connect.
If you missed it and want to be apart of the next round, stay tuned! We usually do these on Wednesday nights every couple of week. Be sure to watch my stories (@dianamariehome) to find out when the next one will take place.

Throw Back Thursday – Farmhouse Restoration Edition
Throw back Thursday to painting the walls in the master bedroom! It feels like this was forever ago. The master bedroom restoration took a lot longer than I anticipated but it’s pretty neat to go back and look at the progress pictures. If you are renovating or restoring a house or even a piece of furniture be sure to take a lot of pictures! Before, during, and after pictures are all fun to look back on.
Now that the master bedroom is finished I will be moving onto the sitting room. My dad ship lapped the entire room for my birthday present, he’s the best! Its almost ready for paint and I can’t wait to share how I will be painting it! Hint, I’m trading in my roller for a battery powered paint gun. Stay tuned for all the details on this big project that will be happening soon!
What is your favorite way to paint? Brush, roller, spray gun, other? Let me know in the comments below!

An important reminder..
I took a break from posting on Instagram Friday, which is very unusual for me! It was a busy night working on something that I will be sharing soon and I ran out of time to sit down and share. I truly love showing up daily on Instagram and sharing tips, tricks, and inspiration. My hope is that I am creating a space where you can come and feel like you are leaving inspired or more prepared to tackle your next project. As much as I enjoy chatting in stories and sharing in posts, there are days I just can’t do it all. We can’t do it all all the time, we are only human. What we can do is our best and that’s what I strive for daily. Sometimes your best means setting aside expectations to make progress on something that is important, spend time with family and friends, or just plain sit and watch Netflix because you need time to relax.
If you’ve been feeling like you need to do it all, all the time, I hope this helps you. Remember to be kind and give yourself grace. You are enough ❤️
New Farm Babies
On Saturday we added more chicks here at @flintcreekfarm. I was honestly surprised how many of you were interested in learning more about what it takes to raise chickens. Kurt and I are no experts, but we have been raising backyard chickens for a few years now. We have done everything from ordering hatching eggs, live chicks, hatching eggs from our own chickens, and buying chicks from Tractor Supply. We have also learned what feed and equipment works best for us through trial and error. I am going to put together all the info we have learned along the way and share it with you soon! Until then let’s just pause and talk about how dang cute this little Buff Orpington chick is! 🐥
Do you have specific questions about raising backyard chickens, or chickens in general? Let me know in the comments of this post and I’ll be sure to answer them in an upcoming blog post. I’ll get us started with a common question I get, “do you need a rooster to get eggs?” I’ll be answering this and much more soon!
A Week in Review Summary
That’s a wrap! I have really enjoyed these “Week in Review” posts. It has been very fulfilling to take the time to sit and reflect on the previous week. It reminds me just how much we have to be grateful for daily. I hope you are finding this new series to be a convenient way to stay up to date with everything happening here at Diana Marie Home and Flint Creek Farm.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by the blog, it means so much to me!
