A Week in Review: March 9
Last week started by publishing another “Week in Review.” You can check it out HERE if you missed it!
I’ve really enjoyed this new series. Taking the time to sit down and reflect on my previous week has been so fulfilling for me and reminds me just how much I have to be grateful for. Thank you so much for taking the time to show up, like, comment, share, save, dm, follow, pin, read my blog posts, subscribe on YouTube, EVERYTHING! Every bit of support means the world to me. What began as an inspirational outlet during grad school has become so much more. I have big dreams for Diana Marie Home and I have you to thank for motivating me to make steps toward that dream daily.
Do you have a dream your working toward? What is something that helps you move closer to accomplishing your goals?
Changes in the Master Bedroom
I’ve been hinting about some big changes in the master bedroom and I finally get to start sharing about them!
Kurt and I have needed a bigger bed for years, and last weekend we finally got one! We are obsessed but more details on that to come. Today it’s all about the rug! Getting a bigger bed meant getting a bigger rug; a 9×13 to be exact. If you’ve bought rugs before you know it’s hard to find large rugs at an affordable price. Well Woven has so many amazing large rugs that don’t break the bank! This is our second rug from Well Woven and I love them so much. My favorite part is how easy it it to get stains out- something that happens often here on the farm. If you are in the market for a rug be sure to check them out. You can use code 15DIANA for an extra savings!
The Growing Candle
On Wednesday I did a little project and tried propagating grape vines for the first time. If it ends up working I’ll share how I did it. I love propagating plants because who doesn’t love free plants?
Speaking of plants, how pretty does my @thegrowingcandle look on our mantel?! The Growing Candle is a small shop owned by a sweet couple who work to limit waste. They create all natural candles in beautiful containers that can be reused as planters when the candle is gone. The wrapper even contains wildflower seeds to plant, how cool is that?!
Click HERE to see all the candles they have and use code COZYHOME for 15% off! These candles would make a perfect mother’s day gift!
Fusion Mineral Paint: A Full Review
Last week on the blog I shared a full review of Fusion Mineral Paint, the pros and cons, and if I will use it again. I also shared before and after pictures of a few projects I painted with it. Hint: this vintage bed frame was one of them. Click HERE to check out the pictures on the blog and let me know if you would have bought it in the condition it was in for the price I paid.
Have you used Fusion Mineral Paint before?
Weekend Plans
Happy Friday! Did you catch my stories today? I shared what I brought home; I think I’m done now.. Maybe! ((Spoiler alert, it was more baby chicks!))
This weekend I am hoping to get a lot done in the sitting room. It is all shiplapped and ready for paint. I’ll be trying a new painting method and I can’t wait to share all about it soon!
Garden Planning
Today was all about the plants here at Flint Creek Farm. It started with watering the house plants and turned into planting all the clearance plants from December. It’s nice to have that off my to do list and the shrubs are definitely happier out of their pots. It’s been so fun walking around and seeing what plants are starting to come up. Last year I planted a lot of bulbs, hydrangeas, berries, boxwoods, and arborvitaes and I can’t wait to watch them all bloom this year! I’m also getting ready to start some seeds for a garden this year. I keep going back and forth on how much I should garden this year, since I should really focus my efforts on the house, but I have a feeling my self control won’t last long.
Are you going to have a garden this year? Do you start your own seeds or buy plants? What are your must have plants in the garden?!
A Week in Review Summary
That’s a wrap! Another week wrapped up and on to the next one. I will be back next week to share more but I am looking forward to more painting and gardening!
