It’s finally that time! Our first Christmas in the farmhouse. I have slowly started to add Christmas touches around the house. The antique farmhouse themed gallery wall was among the first spaces I added Christmas charm to.
This cozy space in our home is one of my favorites. It was one of the first areas I decorated in our house using items I have collected over time. I especially love the gallery wall. Not only does it display some of my favorite pieces, but it is easy to change items out to switch between seasons.
The easiest way to decorate for a new season
Living in a fixer upper means that I am always looking for ways to save time. Decorating for a new season can feel very overwhelming, especially if you feel like you need to start from scratch. I figured out a trick to make the transition super simple!
Instead of starting from scratch, I just swap out seasonal decor. For example, I took the basket filled with leaves down and replaced it with a gold frame and vintage ice skates. I also replaced the vintage shoe forms with a seasonal garland (similar to this one HERE) wrapped in twinkle lights. To top it all off, I added a cozy knitted red striped blanket (similar to this one HERE). These simple changes transformed this space from fall to winter in just a few minutes!
An early Christmas Gift
What really inspired this Christmas farmhouse gallery wall was my new bag from Portland Leather. I first stumbled upon their page a few weeks ago and was instantly obsessed with their products, especially their Classic Leather Tote Bag. So, you can only imagine how excited I was when they reached out to see if I would like to test out one of their bags for myself.
I decided to go with the large Classic Tote in the color Nutmeg with dark brown handles and an added outside pocket. The bag also comes with an inside pocket and clasp to secure your keys.
*I included an unedited picture of my bag at the bottom of this post to help you get a better idea of it’s true color.
My expectations were blown out of the water with this bag. Each bag is handmade using quality material that is made to last but sold at affordable prices. The team at Portland Leather are creatives who are following their passions; building a business from a small garage to a beautiful 12,ooo square foot workshop that sounds like a dream. Another thing that stuck out to me about this company is that they utilize full-grain American leather, which is a byproduct of the beef industry, meaning that they are minimizing waste.
A gift for you!
This is the nicest bag I have ever owned. It is a high quality item that will last for years, which I love. I also love that it matches seamlessly with my decor. That is always a win in my book. When it first arrived, it did have a very strong leather smell, to be expected from a newly crafted leather bag. This smell has significantly decreased in just a week.
Now for my favorite part! Portland Leather was kind enough to offer my friends 20% off of their already affordable prices! They are seriously too kind! Just use the code “DMH20” for 20% off your purchase. Also be sure to check out their “Almost Perfect Sale” for additional savings!
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, it means the world to have you here! Having the opportunity to share our home, inspiration, and products we love is such a dream come true. Thank you for helping to make that dream possible!
