How to decorate after Christmas
After Christmas I am always eager to take down all the decorations and have a fresh clean start. However, once all the trees and greenery comes down it can leave the house feeling a bit cold and empty. I’ve found a few tricks to create a cozy home right after the holidays.

Tips for how to decorate after Christmas
- Create cozy nooks where the big tree used to be to fill the space. Add a chair, lamp, and throw blanket for a simple space to enjoy your morning coffee.
- Replace the Christmas greens with houseplants.
- Leave up the more simple winter greenery (like plain pine wreaths) for a smoother transition.
- Use muted colored linens with a lot of texture.
- Light candles.
Creating a fresh start after Christmas
Are you looking to really change a space up for the New Year, but don’t want to invest the time or money for a renovation? Try replacing the rug! Adding a new rug is an affordable way to completely change the look and feel of a room. I recently added the Pesaro Vintage Oriental Medallion Brown Rug in 8×10 from Well Woven.
