How to Simply Transition from Fall to Winter Decor

Transitioning home decor between seasons can seem overwhelming to say the least.  With a few simple tricks, I’ll share how I simply transitioned this fall table to winter.

Do you remember the simple Fall table I put together in our dining room?  I love decorating little spaces and this table is no exception.  To transition from fall to winter decor, I simply swapped out a few items.

Create a space you love

The first step to creating spaces that transition easily between seasons is to style a space you love.  Choose some of you favorite vintage collections and display them in a way that makes you smile when you see it.  For me, I spent time creating this display using vintage crocks, architectural salvage, and school house finds (e.g., books, flashcards, abacus, and date tag).

Identifying and Changing Seasonal Items

In order to transition a space from one season to the next just swap out seasonal items.  For example, I traded the amber bottles for brass candle sticks and dried corn stalks for long needle pine sprays.  I also replaced my fall candle with a winter one.

Saving time and energy

What I love about this method is that if you put the time into creating a space you love initially, when you want to switch it up it will only take a couple minutes.  I spent about 30 minutes creating this space initially for fall.  I made sure everything was exactly where I wanted it and that I used items that I loved and that takes time.  However, when I went to swap out the fall items for winter it didn’t take me more than 5 minutes!
