Farmhouse Dining Room Reveal
I can not believe the dining room project is officially complete! I have learned a great deal through this three and a half month project, but the main take away is that my true passion is styling. Don’t get me wrong, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to bring our 1800’s farmhouse back to it’s original glory, but I prefer making the finished product look pretty over the sweat and tears that goes into restoring an old home. However, with that said, I would not have it any other way!
It’s hard to believe that less than four months ago I was just starting to pick at the water damage spot on the sheet rock drop ceiling. Little did I know it would be the start to a project that would end in my dream dining room.

Dining Room Inspiration
After restoring this room, I was left with a blank slate. My main goal when planning the decor was to highlight the original character that we had exposed. While the painted wood floors, wainscoting, and added shiplap are all show stoppers, the exposed beam ceiling is arguably the star of the show. Therefore, my design plan revolved around showcasing the unique ceiling.

Making the Space Cozy
I knew the vintage inspired chandelier and large farmhouse table would warm the space up and balance the visual weight of the ceiling, however I needed a rug to really cozy the space up. I found the perfect rug from Well Woven. This rug checked every box; vintage look, neutral, well made, and on budget. You can find my exact rug HERE. Also, if you are in the market for a new rug, Well Woven was kind enough to offer my friends 15% off a purchase of $75+ using the code 15DIANA. We have two Well Woven rugs in our home and I highly recommend them. They are stain resistant and perfect for high traffic areas. See our other rug HERE.
I also added tie top curtains for another layer of cozy. I thought about making these curtains from drop cloth, but when I found these ones for such an affordable price, I decided to save time and buy them. You can find the exact curtains I used HERE and the curtain rods HERE.
Details Matter
I also added this beautiful heirloom quality sign made from reclaimed wood. I was able to add my own custom quote, but this frame would also be perfect for a special family photo. The neat part about this sign is that it came with a unique hanging system that allows you to hang your frame with out drilling any holes in the wall. You can even adjust it after in case you are like me and struggle to get things perfectly center. You can find more of these custom frames HERE.

Simple and Natural Design
I kept the decor simple and neutral with the intention of switching it up throughout each season, while also allowing the space to evolve to the needs of our family. In this season, that meant using many items I already had; like the thrifted chandelier, passed down brass candle holders, and thrifted baskets and buckets. I also pulled a lot of decor from nature; like the broom corn and pumpkins from a little farm stand, wispy ferns from a plant in the yard, and dried eucalyptus that I kept from our wedding.

A Dream Come True
I still can’t believe that this is our dining room. That this room exist in our home and that we get to eat meals here while creating memories around our table. It is such a dream come true. It also gives me motivation to start the next room. Can you imagine what our house will look like one day? This room gives me a sweet glimpse into that future.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today to check out our finished dining room, it means the world to have you here!
*Although the rug and sign that I incorporated into our dining room design were gifted, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

What wood did you use on the ceiling? It is beautiful.
Thank you! The exposed beams are the original beams of the home. We exposed them after tearing out 3 layers of ceiling!
