Transitioning from Winter to Spring Decor
I know its only mid February and we still have a lot of winter left in Upstate New York, but I am ready for longer days and warmer temps. Since I can’t persuade mother nature to send spring to New York any earlier, I usually start to add spring vibes in our house through decor around this time.

Neutral Spring Farmhouse Living Room
I love using neutrals and re-using items I own when decorating. Before starting this room I shopped my house for items that had a spring vibe to them. I grabbed vintage clay pots and flower frogs from my greenhouse, a moss wreath, some house plants, an antique cloche, and some cute bunnies. I also used the head planter and faux fern I recently purchased to incorporate into my home decor inventory.

Buying Items You Love
As a general rule of thumb, I only buy decor items that I truly love. This allows me to get the most value out of them and not have to purchase brand new items every time I want to switch my decor. I have also found it helpful to have collections of items. When I decorate, I like to have 2-3 unique items surrounded by collections. On the mantel My main items are the antique sign and spring bunnies. The fillers are my collections of vintage books, clay pots, and flower frogs.

Adding Greenery
One of the easiest ways to make your house feel homey is by adding greenery; real or fake. The best part of greenery is that you can use it in all seasons. After I take down the winter pines, I like to add back all my house plants. Pothos are my favorite because they are the easiest to keep a live. I also like mixing in faux greenery. I recently purchased this faux fern and it it a great way to add greenery to areas that don’t get enough light or are hard to reach/water.
